With many displaced hurricane victims across the Gulf Coast and Florida seeking the comfort of family and friends outside the affected areas, Aeromexico is providing Mexicans who have lost their homes, jobs or have been otherwise affected by Hurricane Katrina, with one-way travel to return home.

Between September 12 and October 15, 2005, Aeromexico will provide complementary travel to Mexico City from its Atlanta, Miami, Houston and Dallas gateways. Mexicans wishing to return home are asked to contact their local Mexican Consulate, which will handle the verification process, and provide temporary documentation to those who may have lost their identification during the storm. The airline will coordinate flight arrangements for those seeking assistance directly with the consulates. Upon arrival in Mexico City, they will be assisted by local government agencies as needed.

“Hurricane Katrina’s affects have been felt across so many communities, including that of Mexicans living and working in the United States,” said Jose Kuri, Sr. Vice President of the U.S. Division for Aeromexico. “It is our responsibility to step forward and support the Mexican community in times like these when they need us the most.”
