Campeche, Mexico Adventure Tour March 13 - 17, 2010
We now have a new travel opportunity for you: Campeche, Mexico. If you haven't heard of Campeche before it's okay, not many Americans have. Campeche is located in the southeast of Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula. It is surrounded by the pristine blue waters of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Visit the web site at www.tourcampeche.com to see the beauty that Campeche holds.
The City of San Francisco de Campeche, the state's capitol, was originally an old Mayan trading port. Spanish Conquistadors came to Campeche in 1517. Pirates attacked the city on a regular basis, until 1668 when Campeche was fortified with a city wall ten (10) feet thick.
Wealthy merchants and traders built stunningly beautiful houses and haciendas; today hundreds of these have been carefully restored to their former glory and repainted with the original soft pastel colors used in the past. In 1999, UNESCO declared Campeche a World Heritage Site.
This adventure tour is the first of its kind and was specially developed in conjunction with the city and state tourism departments along with local businesses. March 13 - 17 are the tour dates. This tour is also limited and reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis.
