Day Drives Touring Los Cabos San LucasDay Drives Touring Los Cabos San Lucas – Beginning in Los Cabos, and from there, head to the town of Todos Santos, located 48 miles north of Los Cabos. There you’ll see old colorful houses surrounding the Nuestra Senora del Pilar Mission, one of the area’s main architectural monuments. If you walk south, you can take a stroll along the beach, where you can also do some fishing. In these parts, fishermen catch skipjack, bass, snapper and shark.

You can also take a boat and visit the famous sea lion colonies off the coast of Todos Santos. When you return to land, pass through Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo to continue your journey along the highway that heads north toward the towns of Los Barriles and Buenavista, where you can take a refreshing swim in the ocean or go for a stroll along the beach. Nearby is La Playita, where they prepare some of the region’s tastiest shrimp and fish dishes.

After that, take Route 9 northeast and take the Highway 1 turnoff until you see a round structure called The Tropic of Cancer Monument, which marks the exact spot where this tropic crosses through Mexican territory. As you continue in the direction of La Paz, stop off to visit el Museo del la Ballena (Whale Museum), where they have some fascinating exhibits. The museum is located on Manuel Altamirano Street.

As you continue to drive towards La Paz, you’ll be offered a view of the beautiful beaches. La Paz was founded in 1535 by Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortez. Once you are there, take a boat from Puerto de Pichilingue to Isla Espiritu Santo, a perfect place to scuba dive amid hammerhead sharks and beautiful coral.
