Touring San Jose del Cabo – You can begin in the heart of San Jose del Cabo, where you can spot different bird, turtle and marine mammal species at the San Jose del Cabo Estuary. This place has more than 150 bird species and a wide variety of indigenous plants. It’s also a great place to do some kayaking.
From there, take Mijares Boulevard and continue on to the Palacio Municipal, which was built at the end of the 19th century. Nearby is the main square, a pretty and picturesque spot to enjoy an ice cream made with seasonal fruits. Continue the tour along Alvaro Obregon Avenue, where you can visit the San Jose Church, an old mission.
After that, go to Mauricio Castro Street and follow the signs that will lead you to Parque de las Ballenas, which is near the sea wall. There you’ll find the highway that goes to Cabo San Lucas and you’ll pass the golf courses that lie off the coast of the Sea of Cortez until you reach El Arco. At El Arco, you’ll be able to spot seals and sea lions and do some scuba diving or check out the cascades.
As the day winds down, La Playa del Amor is a good place to take in the sunset. If the light of day still permits, visit the Old Lighthouse, a construction built in 1890 and located at Cabo Falso, which is 19 kilometers from Cabos San Lucas. When you return to Cabo San Lucas, you’ll find excellent restaurants to have dinner. The cuisine of Los Cabos is a tasty offering that blends creativity and rich flavors. |
