Playa Principal is south of Puerto Escondido. Here you can rent boats and equipment for inshore and offshore fishing excursions. In November, you can compete in an annual fishing tournament.
La Laguna de Manialtepec is about 11 miles west of Puerto Escondido, off Highway 200. This lagoon is 5 miles long and is surrounded by mangroves and dense vegetation. This is one the best places to go fishing. In these waters you’ll find mojarra, bass, mullet and catfish.
