Puerto Escondido hosts sporting events at the two beaches "Fiestas de Noviembre"
Torneo Internacional de Pesca de Pez Vela. This international fishing tournament is held at Playa Principal. The event draws numerous participants from all over the world who compete to catch the largest sailfish. Winners take home prizes at the end of the competition.
Torneo Internacional de Surf. This international surfing tournament takes place at Playa Zicatela, which is known for its big waves. The event also includes marathons, boat and canoe races and the Señorita Costa Esmeralda and Miss Bikini beauty contests.
 Puerto Escondido is mostly known for its beaches and crafts stores, however the port also has a select group of bars and discos where you can enjoy drinks with friends on a warm night. You’ll find most of these establishments on Andador Perez Gasca or on Blvd. Benito Juarez.
In Puerto Escondido you can go shopping at the markets, crafts stores and souvenir shops along Andador Perez Gasca, 9 Norte Street and 4 Poniente Street. You also can visit the crafts markets in the town of San Pedro Mixtepec. |
