Blocking The View

Reducir Deudas Consolidar las Deudas Tarjetas de Credito

The view from the end of our school's street is of the open ocean, and it’s a view we cherish. But today the view is being lost to

miles and miles of bleachers.

Both sides of the boulevard will be lined, and the parades will come. Carnaval is only two weeks away, and Carnaval is the biggest and loudest party of the year.

People pour into town from all over the state of Veracruz and from much of Mexico. The population of the city will double.

As with everything in the city of Veracruz, Carnaval is for all the people. The parades run along the boulevard, along the waterfront (only half a block from the school), and the big events take place in the zocalo. But, the city takes events back into the neighborhoods, the colonias, and so it’s a close-by event for everyone.

Some argue that Carnaval is nothing more than debauchery. We’ve not been to Carnaval elsewhere, and so we don’t know. But in Veracruz it is a huge party and surely a little unruly. It’s also fun and music and laughter. And, because of the wonderful people of Veracruz, it’s a family time. For this, it’s okay with us for them to block our ocean view for a few weeks.
