Veracruz Is In Third Place In Business Tourism
Mexico City comes first and then Cancun beats out Veracruz but only by the slightest margin. Veracruz is a hotspot for international conventions, congresses, scientific gatherings...
and other large (and smaller) international meetings.
The WTC, with its 10,000+ square feet of floor space, hosts the largest of these and hosts on average three hundred events a year. Many other excellent facilities, ranging from five star resorts to business class hotels, are found in the urban area.
This incredibly high level of business tourism has brought positive and successful pressure on the various local governments to cooperate. The outside-the-meeting-hall tourist activities have been enhanced to far better serve this community of visitors.
Veracruz has strong attraction for a broad variety of reasons. Most special to those of us who live here is that Veracruz is a truly Mexican city. It’s a center for cultural tourism, and allows businesspeople to understand Latin culture. Unlike the Mexico City, Veracruz is safe. Business people can attend more to business and less to looking over their shoulders.
Because of culture and safety, and because the governments are making the city even easier for foreigners to use, along with this is high level of business tourism is a constantly growing rise in spousal and family tourism.
With greater and greater frequency, during the businesspersons’ meetings, spouses and families are studying Spanish with us.
